Day 1: Jaisalmer Sightseeing & Diwali Celebration at Sam Sand Dunes

Morning – Arrival in Jaisalmer

Begin your Jaisalmer experience with arrival in the Golden City. After meeting your representative, proceed towards the hotel or designated stay for freshening up and breakfast. After some relaxation, start your city sightseeing.

Late Morning – Explore Jaisalmer Fort

Visit the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort, popularly known as Sonar Qila. Built from golden sandstone, the fort remains a living heritage area with residences, shops, temples and narrow lanes.

Take time to walk through the fort and admire its architecture, carved facades and panoramic views of the city.

Afternoon – Havelis & Gadsisar Lake

Continue towards the historic havelis of Jaisalmer. Explore the beautifully carved Patwon Ki Haveli and the traditional architecture that reflects the wealth and craftsmanship of old Jaisalmer.

Later, visit Gadsisar Lake, a peaceful heritage waterbody surrounded by temples, shrines and sandstone structures.

After sightseeing, have lunch and take a short break before heading towards the desert.

Afternoon – Drive to Sam Sand Dunes

On arrival, check into your desert camp and take some time to relax in your tent.

Late Afternoon – Camel Safari & Sunset

After breakfast, take some free time to explore the camp, enjoy the surroundings or simply relax after the previous evening’s celebrations.

Late Morning – Desert Experience

Spend the remaining morning enjoying the desert at your own pace. Depending on the camp’s arrangements and operating conditions, guests may have time for additional desert activities or photography.

The Thar Desert offers a completely different atmosphere during the morning, with quiet dunes, fresh air and expansive views.

Late Morning – Check-Out

After completing the desert experience, check out from the camp and begin your return journey towards Jaisalmer.
